Anti-Keratin 24 antibodies are used for the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the KRT24 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 525 amino acid residues and a mass of 55.1 kDa. It is reported to be highly expressed in keratinocytes, placenta, colon and spleen. A member of the Intermediate filament protein family, it is known to be involved with epithelial cell differentiation. Other names for this target antigen include cytokeratin-24, keratin 24, type I, type I keratin-24, and keratin, type I cytoskeletal 24. Gene orthologs have been identified in the mouse, rat and bovine species. A number of Keratin 24 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
