Anti-BEX3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein brain expressed X-linked 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 111 amino acid residues and a mass of 13 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the BEX protein family, BEX3 is believed to be a signaling adapter molecule involved in p75NTR-mediated apoptosis induced by NGF. Post-translational modifications have been described, including ubiquitination. Synonyms for this target antigen include DXS6984E, HGR74, NADE, NGFRAP1, protein BEX3, and Bex. BEX3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine and chimpanzee species. Some BEX3 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
