The gene may also be known as karyopherin alpha 7 (importin alpha 8), IPOA8, and importin subunit alpha-8. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 56.9 kilodaltons in mass. Based on gene name, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat orthologs may also be found.
