Anti-FAM83B antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein family with sequence similarity 83 member B. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1011 amino acid residues and a mass of 114.8 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cytoplasm. It is notably expressed in many tissues, such as the cervix and esophagus. A member of the FAM83 protein family, FAM83B is a suspected proto-oncogene that functions in the epidermal growth factor receptor/EGFR signaling pathway. The FAM83B marker can be used to identify Midbrain Splatter Neurons.* Synonyms for this target antigen include protein FAM83B. FAM83B gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species.
