Anti-nudix hydrolase 6 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein encoded by the NUDT6 gene. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 316 amino acid residues and a mass of 35.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus, mitochondria, and cytoplasm. Alternative splicing is reported to yield 2 different isoforms for this protein. It is notably expressed in liver, kidney and esophagus. A member of the Nudix hydrolase protein family, it is believed to contribute to the regulation of cell proliferation. Other names for this target antigen include FGF-AS, FGF2AS, GFG-1, GFG1, nucleoside diphosphate-linked moiety X motif 6, and ASFGF2.
