Anti-RANK-5 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the RANK-5 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the ANKFY1 gene, which encodes ankyrin repeat and FYVE domain containing 1. This protein is known to function in endocytosis, among other biological roles. The human version of RANK-5 has a canonical amino acid length of 1169 residues and a protein mass of 128.4 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the membrane and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the cerebellum and cerebral cortex. Other names for this target antigen include ANKHZN, BTBD23, and ZFYVE14.
