Anti-MTMR8 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein myotubularin related protein 8. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 704 amino acid residues and a mass of 78.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the Protein-tyrosine phosphatase protein family, MTMR8 is a reported phosphatase that acts on lipids with a phosphoinositol headgroup. Synonyms for this target antigen include phosphatidylinositol-3,5-bisphosphate 3-phosphatase and phosphatidylinositol-3-phosphate phosphatase. MTMR8 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Western Blot is the most common application for the MTMR8 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
