Anti-MT-MMP-1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target MT-MMP-1 is a known alias name of the protein matrix metallopeptidase 14, encoded by the MMP14 gene in humans. This 582-amino acid residue protein is a reported endopeptidase that degrades various components of the extracellular matrix such as collagen. It is localized to the membrane and cytoplasm of the cell and features cleaved and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in stromal cells of colon, breast, and head and neck. Other synonyms for MT-MMP-1 include MMP-X1, MT-MMP, and MT-MMP 1. Western Blot is the most common application for the MT-MMP-1 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
