Anti-CRY1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein cryptochrome circadian regulator 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 586 amino acid residues and a mass of 66.4 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm. A member of a the DNA photolyase class-1 protein family, CRY1 is known to be a transcriptional repressor which forms a core component of the circadian clock. Post-translational modifications have been described, including ubiquitination and phosphorylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include PHLL1, cryptochrome-1, cryptochrome 1 (photolyase-like), cryptochrome circadian clock 1, and DSPD.
