Anti-STARD4 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein StAR related lipid transfer domain containing 4. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 205 amino acid residues and a mass of 23.5 kDa. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. STARD4 is reported to be involved in intracellular transport of cholesterol. Synonyms for this target antigen include START domain containing 4, sterol regulated, START domain-containing protein 4, StAR-related lipid transfer (START) domain containing 4, and stAR-related lipid transfer protein 4. STARD4 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some STARD4 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Immunohistochemistry is also a common application.
