Anti-LYGH antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the LYGH antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the LYG2 gene, which encodes lysozyme g2. This protein is believed to act as a potent antibacterial protein that may play a role in the innate immunity. The human version of LYGH has a canonical amino acid length of 212 residues and a protein mass of 23.5 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be a secreted protein. LYGH is a member of the Glycosyl hydrolase 23 protein family.
