Anti-MRP6 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MRP6 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the S100A12 gene, which encodes S100 calcium binding protein A12. This protein is known to function in inflammatory response pathways and innate immune responses, among other biological roles. The human version of MRP6 has a canonical amino acid length of 92 residues and a protein mass of 10.6 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane, cytoplasm, and is secreted of cells and notably expressed in the tonsil, spleen, lymph node, and bone marrow. MRP6 is a member of the S-100 protein family.
