Anti-SEC63 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein SEC63 homolog, protein translocation regulator. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 760 amino acid residues and a mass of 88 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the ER. It is found to be widely expressed, with high levels in the liver. SEC63 is known to mediate cotranslational and post-translational transport of certain precursor polypeptides across endoplasmic reticulum (ER). The SEC63 gene has been associated with the disease, Polycystic liver disease 2 with or without kidney cysts. Synonyms for this target antigen include ERdj2, PCLD2, PRO2507, SEC63L, translocation protein SEC63 homolog, and DNAJC23. SEC63 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. A number of SEC63 antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
