Anti-SLC6A20 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein solute carrier family 6 member 20. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 592 amino acid residues and a mass of 65.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. A member of the Sodium:neurotransmitter symporter (SNF) (TC 2.A.22) protein family, SLC6A20 is known to mediate the Na(+)- and Cl(-)-dependent uptake of imino acids such as L-proline, N-methyl-L-proline and pipecolate as well as N-methylated amino acids. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation.
The SLC6A20 marker can be used to identify Brain Fibroblast Non-Neuronal Cells.* Synonyms for this target antigen include SIT1, XT3, Xtrp3, sodium- and chloride-dependent transporter XTRP3, X transporter protein 3, and IMINO. SLC6A20 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some SLC6A20 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. Western Blot is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
