Product Name:

Zombie Aqua™ Fixable Viability Kit

Catalog Number:

423101

Clone Number:

I used Zombie Viability dyes to examine dead cell frequency in flow cytometry samples. Samples needed to be fixed with formaldehyde so I used a live/dead dye which allows fixation.

Results Summary

Zombie Viability dyes allowed me examine dead cell frequency in tissue culture samples and exclude them from further analysis. This dye worked well with when used prior to formaldehyde fixation. Although extending the incubation beyond 10 min led to increased nonspecific pick up of dye. Titration was also useful to determine optimum signal to noise ratio.

Summary

The Good

Reliable staining.

The Bad

Titration is needed and provide with max incubation time.

The Bottom Line

A very reliable live dead dye to use before fixation of samples.
