Product Name:

Anti-Vimentin antibody

Catalog Number:

ab8978

Clone Number:

Epicardial cells were differentiated from hESC cells and grown in 2D monolayers. Cells were treated with TGF-beta to induce epithelial to mesenchymal transition and then fixed and stained for vimentin. Vimentin staining was strongly positive in cell cytoplasm.

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Immunofluorescence

Sample

Human embryonic stem cell derived epicardial cells

Primary Incubation

5ug/ml in 10% normal goat serum, overnight at 4 degrees

Blocking Agent

10% normal goat serum, 1 hour, room temperature

Secondary Incubation

Goat Anti-mouse AF488 IgG H&L (ab150113) (1:500)

Tertiary Incubation

N/A

Detection

Olympus Fluorescent microscope, FITC channel

Results Summary

TGF-beta treated epicardial cells stained positive for vimentin in the cytoplasm. Staining was easy to optimize with little effort and showed strong signal relative to background.
