CD19 is the typical marker for B cells. It is preferable to CD20 that is only expressed on mature B cells. Our lab investigates B cells at all stages of maturation. We therefore need a good antibody to ensure all B cells are identified.

Results Summary

CD19 ECD from Coulter gives us a good signal and does not require too much optimization. However, ECD (PE-Texas Red) spills heavily into neighboring channels which means a fair amount of compensation is needed.

Summary

The Good

A good signal, yielding acceptable resolution of positive versus negative cells

The Bad

As an ECD conjugate, spillover/spread becomes an issue

The Bottom Line

This antibody is a good anti-CD19 reagent, that is also ASR which is preferable in clinical trials. Compensation can be an issue, and must be done properly.
