Product Name:

Phospho-Akt (Ser473) Antibody

Catalog Number:

9271

Our lab is interested in immunology, specifically metabolism of T cells. Therefore, looking at pAKT has always been a site we use to look at mTORC2 and the PI3K pathway. This antibody helps us look at the effects of glutamine metabolism for T cells in normal glutamine concentration conditions, versus low glutamine conditions (nutrient deprivation-like).

Experimental Design and Results Summary

Applications

Sample

Murine T cells

Primary Incubation

1:5000 in 4°C overnight

Blocking Agent

5% nonfat dry milk

Secondary Incubation

1:5000 anti-rabbit HRP-linked

Detection

ECL Pico

Results Summary

The bands always show up bright and strong at the correct kDa. There isn't any nonspecific binding, so it is very reliable every time we use the antibody.

Summary

The Good

Bright band and correct MW on western blot.

The Bad

None whatsoever

The Bottom Line

It is worth the price, and our lab uses a smaller dilution than the recommended dilution by CST and it still works great.
