Quintara Biosciences

Service Provided:

Sanger Sequencing

We use Quintara Biosciences to sequence verify plasmids during cloning. However, the quality of their sequencing has decreased over time and the results can be hit or miss. Sometimes everything sequences great the first time, but other times reactions come back noisy or messed up and they have to re-run the reaction.

Nature of Service

Sequence plasmid DNA to check cloning

Technical Service

They are responsive over email to any bad sequencing runs and will re-run the sample

Delivery

Sometimes the quality is not great

Results Summary

Hit or miss. When it works it works well, when it doesn't at least the re-run the sample for free.

Summary

The Good

They re-run samples for free

The Bad

About 1/4-1/3 of their reactions fail the first time and need to be re-run

The Bottom Line

The sequencing usually ends up decent quality, but sometimes takes several re-runs which adds several days to get the results.
