Product Characteristics: The AssayMax™ Mouse Fibronectin ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) Kit is designed for detection of fibronectin in mouse plasma, serum, urine, and cell culture samples. This assay employs a quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique that measures mouse fibronectin in approximately 4 hours. A polyclonal antibody specific for mouse fibronectin has been pre-coated onto a 96-well microplate with removable strips. Fibronectin in standards and samples is sandwiched by the immobilized antibody and a biotinylated polyclonal antibody specific for mouse fibronectin, which is recognized by a streptavidin-peroxidase (SP) conjugate. All unbound material is washed away and a peroxidase enzyme substrate is added. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Target Information: This gene encodes fibronectin, a glycoprotein present in a soluble dimeric form in plasma, and in a dimeric or multimeric form at the cell surface and in extracellular matrix. Fibronectin is involved in cell adhesion and migration processes including embryogenesis, wound healing, blood coagulation, host defense, and metastasis. The gene has three regions subject to alternative splicing, with the potential to produce 20 different transcript variants. However, the full-length nature of some variants has not been determined.
