MyBioSource.com's Dead Box Protein 6 is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody. This antibody has been shown to work in applications such as: Western Blot. The Dead Box Protein 6 Antibody was generated using DDX6, DEAD-box helicase 6, HLR2, and me31B as the antigen and it reacts with Human.

Description

DDX6, also known as RCK and p54, is a member of the DEAD box family of proteins that possesses several conserved motifs which include the highly conserved DEAD (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) amino acid sequence motif. Based on their distribution patterns, some members of this family are involved in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis and cellular growth and division. The major activity of DEAD box proteins is to function as ATP-dependent RNA helicases involving RNA metabolism which include pre-mRNA splicing, RNA synthesis, RNA degradation, RNA export, RNA translation, RNA secondary structure formation, ribosome biogenesis, and the assembly of RNP complexes (1). DDX6 positively regulates growth by modulating gene expression at the translational level and it may contribute to the cell proliferation and carcinogenesis. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified (2). Knockdown of DDX6 by siRNA leads to a decreased level of viral nucleic acids in extracellular particles, although viral protein expression, capsid assembly and release, and accumulation of viral RNA and Gag protein at the assembly site are little affected (3).

DDX6-selective antibodies were generated against a peptide taken from human DDX6 protein. The DDX6-selective antibodies are affinity purified on an immobilized antigen based affinity matrix, the isolated antibodies were then stabilized in antibody stabilization buffer for long-term storage. The anti-DDX6 selective antibodies are fully characterized for applications in western blotting and ELISA at the recommended dilutions
