Background: Tafazzin, also known as G4.5 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TAZ gene. Cardiolipin is a complex glycerophospholipid with 4 acyl groups that localizes to the mitochondrial inner membrane and has a role in mitochondrial structure and function.
