Immunofluorescence labeling of a hippocampus neuron (24 DIV) with anti-synapsin (cat. no. 106 002; dilution 1 : 20000) and anti-NMDA receptor1 (dilution 1 : 1000) in combination with the fluorochrome-conjugated secondary antibodies Alexa 488 and Alexa 594 (Molecular Probes, Eugene OR). The micrograph shows a segment of a dendrite. Clusters of NMDA- receptors (red) can be found on the postsynaptic neuron juxtaposed to presynaptic nerve terminals (green).

Living rat hippocampus neurons have been incubated with mouse anti-GluN1 (cat. no. 114 011, dilution 1 : 200) in culture medium for 30min. After washing the cells have been fixed with 4% PFA and immunoreactivity has been revealed with fluorescence labeled secondary antibodies (red). Nuclei have been visualized by DAPI staining (blue).​
