Description
PLA2G4F (Phospholipase A2 Group IVF) is a Protein Coding gene. The PLA2G4F gene, located on 15q15.1, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, zebrafish, and frog. Pla2g4f is a calcium-dependent phospholipase A2 that has three potentially significant nsSNP variants and showed expression differences across mouse strains. PLA2G4F has higher enzyme activity for phosphatidylethanolamine than phosphatidylcholine. PLA2G4F produces arachidonic acid, which is a substrate for lipoxygenases and, in turn, for GPXs. Diseases associated with PLA2G4F include Ileocolitis and Inflammatory Bowel Disease 9. Among its related pathways are Sweet Taste Signaling and Acyl chain remodeling of PE. 180 organisms have orthologs with the human gene PLA2G4F
