GNG2 (Guanine nucleotide binding protein (G protein), gamma 2) is a member of the guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) family. Heterotrimeric G proteins are involved as a modulator or transducer in various transmembrane signaling systems. The specificity of a G protein-receptor interaction is primarily mediated by the gamma subunit
