KRT17 (Keratin 17) is a Protein Coding gene. This gene encodes the type I intermediate filament chain keratin 17, expressed in the nail bed, hair follicle, sebaceous glands, and other epidermal appendages. KRT17 was shown to be an important molecular marker for predicting the carcinogenesis, progression, and prognosis of various cancer types.
