ACTL6B is is a member of a family of actin-related proteins (ARPs). ARPs are involved in a number of cellular processes, including chromatin remodelling, vesicular transport, and nuclear migration. ACTL6B is important for c-Myc oncogenic activity (Park et al. 2002). ACTL6B is a subunit of the BAF (BRG1/brm-associated factor) complex in mammals, which is thought regulate expression of genes in brain tissue via structural remodelling of their chromatin (Marcum et al. 2020).
