MMP9 degrades type IV and V collagens and is involved inproteolysis of the extracellular matrix. Produced by granulocytes and macrophages. MMP9 is involved with tissue destruction in a cancer invasion and metastasis, rheumatoid arthiritis, fibrotic lung disease and cardiomyopathy
