MRPL15 (Mitochondrial Ribosomal Protein L15) is a protein-coding gene. The MRPL15 gene, located on 8q11.23, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, chicken, zebrafish, fruit fly, mosquito, C.elegans, and frog. MRPL15 belongs to the universal ribosomal protein uL15 family. This gene encodes a 39S subunit protein that belongs to the EcoL15 ribosomal protein family and is predicted to be involved in translation. A pseudogene corresponding to this gene is found on chromosome 15q. MRPL15 is widely expressed in the heart, kidney, and other tissues.
