WSCD2 (WSC Domain Containing 2) is located on human chromosome 12q23.3. The WSCD2 protein is biasedly expressed in thyroid, brain and other tissues. Structurally, the protein is reported to be 63.8 kD in mass. The WSCD2 (also known as KIAA0789, WSC domain-containing protein 2) gene is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, and zebrafish. 224 organisms have orthologs with human gene WSCD2. WSCD2 is associated with some diseases, including Porokeratosis and Lateral Meningocele Syndrome. An important paralog of this gene is WSCD1
