Description

SH3KBP1 (SH3 Domain Containing Kinase Binding Protein 1, also known as CIN85) is a Protein Coding gene. The SH3KBP1 gene, located on Xp22.12, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, zebrafish, and frog. This gene encodes an adapter protein that contains one or more N-terminal Src homology domains, a proline-rich region, and a C-terminal coiled-coil domain. The encoded protein facilitates protein-protein interactions and has been implicated in numerous cellular processes including apoptosis, cytoskeletal rearrangement, cell adhesion, and the regulation of clathrin-dependent endocytosis. SH3KBP1 is widely expressed in the lymph node, fat, and other tissues. Diseases associated with SH3KBP1 include Immunodeficiency 61 and Adrenal Cortical Adenocarcinoma. SH3KBP1 is a novel target of SOX10
