MyBioSource.com's Rabbit Anti-MIA/Melanoma Inhibitory Activity Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody. This antibody has been shown to work in applications such as: Immunohistochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry - fixed. The Rabbit Anti-MIA/Melanoma Inhibitory Activity Antibody was generated using MIA as the antigen and it reacts with Human.
Description
The Melanoma Inhibitory Activity (MIA) protein is strongly expressed and secreted by malignant melanoma cells and was shown to promote melanoma development and invasion.MIA (melanoma inhibitory activity) has been identified as a small protein secreted from malignant melanoma cells, which interacts with extracellular matrix proteins including fibronectin. The MIA protein was the first extracellular protein shown to adopt an Src homology 3 (SH3) domain-like fold in the solution that can bind to fibronectin type III domains.MIA (Melanoma Inhibitory Activity) protein is overexpressed in melanoma cells and binds to extracellular matrix proteins as well as to several integrins.MIA (melanoma inhibitory activity) protein, identified as a small 11 kDa protein highly expressed and secreted by malignant melanoma cells, plays an important functional role in melanoma development, progression, and tumor cell invasion
