Description
SAR1A (Secretion Associated Ras Related GTPase 1A) is a Protein Coding gene. The SAR1A gene, located on 10q22.1, is conserved in chimpanzee, dog, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, zebrafish, S.cerevisiae, K.lactis, E.gossypii, S.pombe, M.oryzae, N.crassa, A.thaliana, rice, and frog. SAR1A is widely expressed in fat, placenta, and other tissues. SAR1A is involved in transport from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi apparatus (By similarity). Diseases associated with SAR1A include Chylomicron Retention Disease and Craniolenticulosutural Dysplasia. Among its related pathways are Sterol Regulatory Element-Binding Proteins (SREBP) signaling and Delta508-CFTR traffic/ER-to-Golgi in CF. 197 organisms have orthologs with the human gene SAR1A
