PSMC6 (Proteasome 26S Subunit, ATPase 6) is a Protein Coding gene. The PSMC6 gene, located on 14q22.1, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, and mouse, etc. This gene encodes one of the ATPase subunits, a member of the triple-A family of ATPases which have a chaperone-like activity. Pseudogenes have been identified on chromosomes 8 and 12. PSMC6 is widely expressed in the esophagus, brain, and other tissues.
