MyBioSource.com's Rabbit Anti-Cyclin T1/CCNT1 Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody. This antibody has been shown to work in applications such as: Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry - fixed.
Description
Cyclin T1 (CCNT1), a gene containing nine exons, forms the positive transcription elongation factor b (P-TEFb) complex and regulates a wide variety of biological processes including transcription. Scientists discovered a novel splice variant of CCNT1 that lacks exon 7 (dE7). dE7 regulates the expression and function of CCNT1. CCNT1 exon 7 was more frequently skipped in infected T-cells, leading to loss of the key Cyclin_N motif and affecting HIV-1 transcriptional elongation. Cells derived from mice and other rodents exhibit profound blocks to HIV-1 virion production, reflecting species-specific incompatibilities between viral Tat and Rev proteins and essential host factors cyclin T1 (CCNT1) and exportin-1 (XPO1, also known as CRM1), respectively
