Thyroid transcription factor 1 (TTF1) and 2 (TTF2) were thyroid-specific transcription factors, and regulated expression of the thyroid-specific genes. TTF2 is an RNA polymerase II termination factor that is responsible for mitotic repression of transcription elongation
