The AKAP10 (also known as PRKA10; AKAP-10; D-AKAP2; D-AKAP-2) protein has a vital role in the maintenance of myometrial quiescence and pregnancy. The AKAP10 protein is ubiquitously expressed in thyroid, testis and other tissues. Structurally, the encoded AKAP10 protein is reported to be 73818 Da in mass. The AKAP10 gene encodes a member of the A-kinase anchor protein family. The encoded AKAP10 protein is localized to mitochondria and interacts with both the type I and type II regulatory subunits of PKA.
