Description
SEMA4G (Semaphorin 4G) is a Protein Coding gene. The SEMA4G gene, located on 10q24.31, is conserved in Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, rat, zebrafish, and frog. An important paralog of this gene is SEMA4C. SEMA4G is expressed early in development in the brain, spinal cord, and several sensory organs as well as specific populations of projection neurons, compatible with the well-established function of semaphorins as axon guidance molecules. Diseases associated with SEMA4G include Diffuse Glomerulonephritis and Kallmann Syndrome. SEMA4G may function as an oncogene or tumor suppressor to regulate tumor development in a type-specific manner. Among its related pathways are the NF-KappaB Family Pathway and Activation of cAMP-Dependent PKA
