Description
The ETV3 gene, a transcriptional repressor, encodes an ETS translocation variant 3 protein, that in isoform 1 is 512 amino acids long at 57 kDA and in isoform 2 is 143 amino acids long at nearly 17 kDa. This protein functions in terminal macrophage differentiation as a transcriptional repressor that contributes to growth arrest. ETV3 contributes to growth arrest during terminal macrophage differentiation by repressing target genes involved in Ras-dependent proliferation. ETV3 has several biochemical functions, for example, DEAD/H-box RNA helicase binding, RNA polymerase II regulatory region sequence-specific DNA binding, RNA polymerase II transcription factor activity, sequence-specific DNA binding.
