Retinoid X Receptor Gamma (RXRG) is a nuclear factor member of retinoid X receptor (RXR) superfamily which are involved in mediating the antiproliferative effects of retinoic acid (RA). RXRG plays important roles in lipid homeostasis and tumour suppression. Variation in the RXRG gene may contribute to the genetic dyslipidemia in familial combined hyperlipidemia (FCHL). In ER-positive tumours, high expression of RXRG are associated with better patient outcome regardless of adjuvant systemic therapy. RXRG provides as a prognostic biomarker in breast cancer particularly the ER-positive tumours
