Description
OS9 (OS9 Endoplasmic Reticulum Lectin) is a Protein Coding gene. The OS9 gene, located on 12q13.3-q14.1, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, rat, zebrafish, and frog. OS9 is an ER-resident glycoprotein containing a mannose-6-phosphate receptor homology domain, which is also found in yeast and mammalian lectins involved in endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation (ERAD). The OS9 protein plays an important role in ERAD and acts during Toll-like receptor-induced activation of myeloid cells. Diseases associated with OS9 include Submucous Uterine Fibroid and Amelogenesis Imperfecta, Hypoplastic/Hypomaturation, X-Linked 2. Among its related pathways are Regulation of activated PAK-2p34 by proteasome-mediated degradation and Signaling by GPCR. 181 organisms have orthologs with the human gene OS9
