Description
The largest family of zinc finger proteins is the C2H2, or Kruppel, type. Some members of the Kruppel family contain a conserved KRAB region that can be divided into 2 subregions, the A box and the B box. ZNF205 (also designated ZNF210) is a Kruppel-type zinc finger protein that contains a KRAB A box N-terminal to 8 zinc finger motifs. ZNF205 down-regulates the expression of several chemokine receptors. ZNF205 interferes with HIV-1 replication by suppressing Tat-induced viral LTR promoter activity
