DEAD-box helicase 53 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the DDX53 (also known as CAGE and CT26) gene. DEAD-box helicase 53 contains several domains found in members of the DEAD-box helicase protein family. Other members of this protein family participate in ATP-dependent RNA unwinding. DDX53 is related to nucleic acid binding and ATP-dependent RNA helicase activity. DDX53 is associated with some diseases, including Medullary Colon Carcinoma and Gastric Adenosquamous Carcinoma
