Serine/arginine repetitive matrix 2 (SRRM2), also known as SRm300, was identified as a scaffold protein for multiple splicing factors including snRNPs and SR family proteins. SR proteins possess RNA binding motifs that mediate interaction with specific sequences of target pre-mRNAs, and snRNPs form a splicing complex for the cleavage of the pre-mRNA. SRRM2 is required for pre-mRNA splicing as component of the spliceosome. Among its related pathways are Gene Expression and mRNA Splicing-Major Pathway.
