Description
Homeobox-containing genes are composed of a group of regulatory genes encoding transcription factors involved in the control of developmental processes. The homeodomain proteins could activate or repress the expression of downstream target genes. TGIF2LX (transforming growth factor beta-induced factor 2 like, X-linked) is a homeodomain (HD) protein that has been implicated in the negative regulation of cell signaling pathways. TGIF2LX has been implicated as a tumor suppressor gene in human malignancy (eg. colon adenocarcinoma) as well as in spermatogenesis
