Tripartite motif-containing protein 31 (TRIM31), an E3 ubiquitin ligase, is a member of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family proteins, which are characterized by a common tripartite motif. The tripartite motif consists of a RING domain, one or two B-box domains, and a coiled-coil domain. TRIM31 plays an important role in the innate immune response. It can reduce the activity of the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor (NLR) family pyrin domain containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome.
