MyBioSource.com's Rabbit Anti-Alpha-Tubulin Antibody is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody. This antibody has been shown to work in applications such as: Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry - fixed. The Rabbit Anti-Alpha-Tubulin Antibody was generated using TUBA1A as the antigen and it reacts with Human.
Description
TUBA1A is a highly-conserved gene with few changes among eukaryotes and few polymorphic variants in human populations. TUBA1A encodes the tubulin alpha-1A chain, a protein that is highly expressed in the cerebral cortex, hippocampus, cerebellum, and brainstem of the developing fetal brain, with a decrease in postnatal and adult stages. Alpha-and beta-tubulin subunits form dimers, which then co-assemble into microtubule polymers: dynamic, scaffold-like structures that perform key functions during neurogenesis, neuronal migration, and cortical organization. Microtubules are dynamic polymers that perform a range of mechanical tasks within the cell. Mutations in TUBA1A have been reported to cause a range of brain malformations
