RMND5B (Required For Meiotic Nuclear Division 5 Homolog B) is a Protein Coding gene. The RMND5B gene, located on 5q35.3, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, rat, zebrafish, and C.elegans. An important paralog of this gene is RMND5A. RMND5B is a core component of the CTLH E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex that selectively accepts ubiquitin from UBE2H and mediates ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of the transcription factor HBP1. RMND5B is widely expressed in the testis, esophagus, and other tissues.
