MyBioSource.com's KA2 (Kainate Receptor) is a Rabbit Polyclonal antibody. This antibody has been shown to work in applications such as: Immunohistochemistry, Immunoprecipitation, and Western Blot.
Description
Glutamate receptors are the major excitatory neurotransmitter receptors in the central nervous system (CNS). They play critical roles in the mechanisms of synaptic plasticity, in the development of the nervous system and have been suggested to be involved in the neuronal cell death that occurs in several neuropathological conditions. KA2 is a member of the kainate ionotropic receptors. Kainate receptors mediate fast excitatory synaptic transmissions, are rapidly activated and desensitized by glutamate and are mainly permeable to Na+ and K+
