Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to thyroglobulin. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with biotin-conjugated thyroglobulin. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between thyroglobulin (Standards or samples) and Biotin-conjugated thyroglobulin with the pre-coated antibody specific for thyroglobulin. The more amount of thyroglobulin in samples, the less antibody bound by Biotin-conjugated thyroglobulin. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of thyroglobulin in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured
